Inflation encourages Hoarding!

If I know the price of something I own will go down tomorrow, then I will try to sell anything I do not need today. Deflation encourages me to buy only what I need right now, and offload anything extra. This results in less waste and more efficiency.

If I know the price of something will go up tomorrow, then I will try to buy it today hoping to sell for more. And I will buy, even if I have no need of it. In fact, I might even buy as much as I can. Inflation encourages hoarding. Hoarding causes shortage, leading to price increasing even more. Leading to even more inflation.

The new government is saying all the right things. Only time will tell whether they make a difference. The last few governments also started with lots of hope but lost their way somewhere down the road, and now their legacy lies in tatters. Let's hope this gov lives up to their promises!

A Shelter for Christmas

I spent this Christmas with the homeless & rough-sleepers in a shelter, served by various staff who were all unpaid volunteers.

General Election 2019

This election is all about Brexit. The party that gets it right will win, and the rest will be consigned to the dustbin of history. Politicians who don't understand what people want don't deserve to be elected.
